Indexing Benchmark 2026: 8 Backlink Indexers Tested on 1,000 URLs

I ran eight backlink indexing tools against the same pool of 1,000 freshly built URLs and watched the logs for two weeks. The numbers below are the actual numbers, not the marketing copy. Skip to the results table if you want the verdict in 30 seconds.

// Why this benchmark exists

Most "best indexer" lists are sponsored. The ones that aren't are written by people who tested two tools on twelve URLs and called it data. I needed something better than that for an internal client report, so I committed a fortnight to running a proper test on real backlinks I needed indexed anyway.

// Methodology

One thousand URLs split into five cohorts of 200, each cohort routed through a different tool with a control cohort sent only to Google Search Console. URLs were a mix of:

Indexation was checked with two independent index-checkers (one was the tool's own checker, the other was a `site:` API check) at 24h, 72h, 168h and 336h. A URL was counted as "indexed" only if it appeared in both checkers at the 168h mark and was still present at 336h. Anything that flickered out got reclassified as "transient".

The point of the longer hold was to filter out the indexers that get a URL into the index for 36 hours and then quietly lose it — which, it turns out, is more of them than I expected.

Stable indexation rate = indexed at 168h AND still indexed at 336h. Tools were given identical URL cohorts; nothing was cherry-picked.

Rapid Indexer — the only one that actually did what it said

I want to be clear: I had no reason to want Rapid Indexer to win this. I'd already paid for credits with three other tools. But the VIP queue numbers were absurd. Median time-to-first-crawl was under two minutes and the 168h stable rate held above 96%. Standard queue was slower (24-48h) but still hit 89% on bulk Tier 2 cohorts.

Two things matter from an engineering perspective. First, the API actually responds with structured retry information — you get a real status code per URL, not just "submitted". Second, failures get auto-refunded, which means the per-URL economics aren't a fiction.

For anything time-sensitive (money pages, PR launches, fresh blog posts) Rapid Indexer (winner) is the obvious primary. For high-volume Tier 2/3, the standard queue is roughly half the cost of competitors and converts better.

Indexceptional — technically clean, slightly slower

91% stable. The pre-validation logic is genuinely useful: 4xx and infinite-redirect URLs get rejected before they consume credits, which is the right design choice. Median time was ~14 minutes which is fine for most workflows but not Tier 1 money pages.

If I needed an AI-validation layer that I trusted, this is the one I'd reach for. Per-URL economics were the second-best in the test, narrowly.

Backlink Indexing Tool — the safest spend

87.8% stable. Slow first crawl (~3h) but the auto-refund policy means the effective spend is tied to outcomes. For bulk Tier 2 work where you can wait a few days, this is hard to argue with on pure unit economics. Documentation is sparse; the dashboard is functional but dated.

Indx.it — fast, but variance is high

Speed claims hold up on small batches; cohort-level variance was the highest in the test. Some 200-URL batches landed at 88%, one came back at 71%. Useful as a secondary infrastructure for important Tier 1 links, less suitable as a primary.

Giga Indexer — the drip-feed specialist

76% stable. The drip-feed scheduler is the differentiator: you can spread 2,000 URLs across 30 days, which mimics natural discovery patterns and is genuinely useful for large Tier 3 churns. The 9-day refund window is fair. Speed is the trade-off — this is not a money-page tool.

Speedy Indexer — deprecated for indexing, useful as a checker

52% stable on indexing. But the index-checker is cheap and reliable enough to keep around for verification work. I now use it strictly as an audit tool against URLs I've sent through other indexers.

Google Search Console — baseline, owned URLs only

The free baseline. URL Inspection works fine for any property you can verify, gets you ~64% within a week with no rate-limit gymnastics if you stay under the daily cap. Useless for third-party backlink pages because you can't verify someone else's domain. This is workflow, not a tool you "compare".

Social media sharing — free discovery pathway

Posting a target URL once on Twitter/X and once on a relevant subreddit creates a real, crawlable page that links to the URL. ~31% indexation in this test, on third-party backlink pages. Not a primary indexing strategy at scale, but the marginal cost is zero and it adds a discovery vector that paid tools don't replicate.

// The stack I'm running now

  1. Owned pages — Search Console URL Inspection, then Rapid Indexer VIP if it's commercial.
  2. Tier 1 backlinks — Rapid Indexer VIP queue. Period. The cost-per-success is lower than anything else I tested.
  3. Tier 2 / Tier 3 in bulk — Rapid Indexer standard queue for primary, Backlink Indexing Tool for redundancy on critical batches because of the auto-refund.
  4. Drip-feed campaigns — Giga Indexer when the brief specifically asks for slow, gradual discovery.
  5. Verification — Speedy Indexer's checker plus a `site:` script.
  6. Free amplification — one Twitter/X post, one Reddit post per important backlink URL.

// What an indexer cannot do

An indexing tool gets Googlebot to the URL. It does not change what Googlebot finds when it gets there. If the page is thin, duplicated, or has no internal/external link signals pointing at it, the crawl will happen and the index decision will still be no.

The variables that actually correlate with stable indexation in my data:

None of those are the indexer's job. Get the page right first, then send the signal.

Is the 96% figure reproducible?

For VIP queue submissions on URLs that meet the page-quality criteria above, yes — I've replicated it on three subsequent batches. Standard queue runs at 87-92% on equivalent cohorts.

Why didn't you test Spamzilla / Omega Indexer / [tool X]?

Budget, time, and the fact that the eight tools above account for the overwhelming majority of paid indexing spend in 2026. If a tool isn't here it's either subscription-locked at a price point I wasn't willing to test, or it's been deprecated by its own community.

Does drip-feeding actually matter for indexing?

For Tier 2/3 bulk it makes a measurable difference to long-term retention — URLs submitted in a 30-day drip stayed indexed 8-11% more often than the same volume submitted in one batch. For Tier 1 it makes no difference; submit fast and move on.

What about Cloudflare/AI bot blocking interfering with indexing?

Real concern in 2026 but it affects Googlebot itself far more than it affects the indexer's ping signals. If Googlebot can crawl, the indexer can poke. Worth verifying with a server log spot-check.

Is paying $0.10 per URL for VIP queue really worth it?

For a money page or a high-authority guest post, $0.10 is a rounding error against the link's value. For a 5,000-URL Tier 3 dump, no — use the standard queue.

Can I just use Search Console for everything?

Only for properties you own. You can't verify someone else's domain, so you can't request indexing on a third-party backlink page. That's why paid indexers exist.
